Live-edge slabs and resin pours, modern to future-modern forms, with joinery chosen for the piece.
From conversation to commission
We talk
Tell me what you have in mind, no matter how rough the idea. A quick conversation about the piece, the space, and the wood.
You see it first
Before anything gets cut, I build a 3D mockup so you know exactly what you're getting. Adjust the size, the finish, the details, until it's right.
I build it
One piece at a time, in the shop, with joinery chosen for the piece and no shortcuts.
Justin Chambers
Chambers Woodwork started in 2025 with a simple idea: make honest furniture from real wood, and make it well.
Every commission gets the same standard, solid materials, joinery chosen for the piece, and no shortcuts.
Commission a pieceQuestions, Answered
I don't know anything about wood species, is that a problem?
Not a problem at all. I'll walk you through the different species, their colours, and how the grain and cut affect the final look, so you can pick based on what you actually want, not what you think you're supposed to know.
How much does a commission cost?
It varies too much to quote here, size, material, and complexity all play a part. Once I understand what you're after, I'll put together a full proposal: the design, material options, a detailed price breakdown, and a production timeline, so you know exactly what you're getting before anything's built.
How long does a piece take?
It depends on complexity, materials, and how many other pieces are ahead of yours. Your proposal will include a production timeline specific to your build, so you'll know what to expect before anything's confirmed.
Do you deliver, or is it pickup only?
No pickup, every piece is either personally delivered or shipped, depending on distance. We'll sort out the details as part of your proposal.
Do I need to provide sketches or drawings?
No, though the more you can share, reference photos, rough measurements, a Pinterest board, whatever, the better. I'll always put together my own drawings from our conversation for you to approve before anything's built.
